You are right to be concerned about the front tire turning. But I have hauled all sorts of bikes across the country. You need to use two tie downs on the front compressing the forks. Two on back slightly compressing them. You have a choice now to either use a wheel chock for 50 $ or use 2x4 4x4 or other wooden brace on either side of the tire or use another set of tie downs or rope to keep the wheel from turning.
