Have hauled my bike back and forth to Texas 2x now, and took a XT350 to Colorado. Never used any type of brace, just 2 sets of ratchet straps. I usually tie to the bars and the rack and jus ttighten it down (kick stand up, bike perpendicular to bed of truck, compress front shocks and slightly compress back). At first I was woried that I would run into problems with blowing a seal or something like that, but have yet to experience any problems Bike was very stable (and I do drive like a Texan...except I DO use my turn signals). I saw that a set of the braces runs about $50. Why not spend that on a rubber mat liner for the truck to assure the tires don't slide around. Then you would get something you would use all the time. Just my two pennies. Dust A14 "Rhino" Man with BIG Grin P.S. Before you anti cage people attack, I had it in the truck because the KLR cannot pull a 32' bumper pull camper.....yet. ;)

One problem, I don't like the idea of just tying down the bikes in the back of the truck I want some kind of stand that will hold the front wheel in place while driving through the desert. Any help would be appreciated. > > Thanks, > > Charles Waddell
