Those wires are for a running light on the european models. I think. Anyway, you can see what I did with mine here - http://www.angelfire.com/mo/motormark/klrmods01.html Mark Wilson http://www.geocities.com/motormark64/ http://www.angelfire.com/mo/motormark/ KLR-650 A-13 "warthogg" XR250R "superfly" Stone Mountain, Ga ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Here's a copy of the wiring diagram; http://members.aol.com/cloudhid/klrwiring.jpg John Oldepus

[dsn_klr650] (nklr) oil (continued)

Skip, I've been using Castrol GTX 20W-50 for the entire life of my 1990 KLR, I now have just over 80,000 miles. I've been experimenting wth the STP oil additive for about a year now and have noticed a little bit of clutch slippage under hard acceleration. This weekend I went over Tioga Pass in Yosemite and did not notice any slippage, it seems to only occur under acceleration. So, I'm switching to the diesel oil this week. The info you have provided to the list regarding Castrols' new formulation and the friction-reducing modifiers in some of the oil additives has definitely raised my awareness of a concern of mine.
