An Ethernet connection to the rest of the household LAN (including the cable modem). You can get your dns_klr, and your reeky.moto.dirt fix without going inside! RM

I have a very nice garage and though well equipt I have always a problem with debis or paint fog or sanding debris floating down on stuff I would rather be clean. In order to prevent this I have a ceiling drop cloth that can drop down from the ceiling to the floor which effectivly keeps the airborn stuff to a minimum. Closed front cabinets help over all. Just my opinion. 1992 BMW R 100R , 1965 R 50/2 1995 MuZ Country, 1990 KLR Tengai to arrive tomorrow. Douglas North Charlotte NC #2852

Gino musta watched Howard Stern. Lovely Ladies indeed. Anyway, my dream shop.... Your concrete floor should be poured with the strongest concrete available. Talk with your transit mix people, and inquire about fiber filled. Nix the intercom. Phone line should be a separate number/line. If she wants the trash out she can call to make an appt. :) (Yeah Right!) LAN the house/shop complex and definitely have a clean room for computer stuff. My experience with ceiling fans in shops is bad, so I recommend against. Instead you want a positive pressure shop, central input and outputs on the ends up high. Nix the shower, unless you intend to use it for rinsing before entering the hot tub (located outdoors). Nix the urinal, full throne buddy. Make several walls with the 1/4" peg board spaced away from the dray wall. Don't make a wall of pegboard, you'd be asking for a dust collection site. You need a fume hood, easily incorporated into the posi pressure output. Around the fume hood you'll need a couple of shower curtains to keep things contained and pointed in the right direction. Make a shop-vac integral system for dust collection on grinder and buffing wheel. You didn't mention the buffing wheels but I use mine all the time and I'm glad I bought the unit. No less than 1 pony and with a long arbor throw, so you can do big awkward parts or places. You didn't mention the welder, MIG is best for avg. shop, TIG if you know what you are doing. Small lathe is invaluable, milling machine too. You can buy combo units for hobby stuff pretty cheap. Couch is good, futon is better. You never know. :) She might just come out and surprise you, milling machine is not good for that. All your electricals should be at the 4 foot stripe. Gotta run, More in my head. laterZ Dash At 06:01 PM 5/17/00 -0400, k650dsn@... wrote:

Oxy-acetylene torch, hydraulic press, big bench vice, brake , shear, three phase heliarc, 220 plasma cutter, tire machine, shotgun, three hundred watt stereo amp and about six JBL studio monitors should do the trick. As far as the structure goes I would add openable skylights (screened). I would house the air compressor outside in a shed and plumb the interior with 2" schedule 40 pvc pipe around the beltline for air supply. I would make a provision for an outdoor slab with a high-pressure washer with access to hot water. The other thing I would do is plumb a floor drain in the center of the slab such that the entire floor drains into it. You might want to add a grease trap at the exhaust end. I would also add a steel I-beam that runs the length of the building down the center line with a chain hoist hanging from it. One end of the building should have at least a 8' roll up door with a shed roof overhang that shades it. Don't forget 220 volt power and a master shutoff switch. Morgan built a few shops I have, yessir

Some great idea's Robert . Thanks Why openable skylights There are kind of a no no here in Iowa. I was thinking of 4 windows with bars Again the roll up door would'nt be insulated I was thinking about dual door [like french doors with no glass] what do you think? -----Original Message----- From: Robert Morgan To: KLR650 LIST DSN_klr650@egroups.com>; Steve/Amy Becker Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2000 6:10 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_klr650] KLR [ The perfect garage ]
