Mark, This is a list directed at a common hobby, motorcycle enjoyment. To be quite frank, we don't need your "ego" mentalist attitudes. You know, its people like you that have screwed up our sport in the first place. For instance, the Sierra club managed to get the Barstow to Vegas race canceled because of the desert tortoise. Even thought there wasn't any documented or substantiated evidence that the race had ever caused harm to the desert tortoise. Subsequently, many businesses and communities that enjoyed decent profits from the race and accompanying tourism, lost millions of dollars, a huge impact on their communities. Then a few years later the Sierra club was caught taking money from mining and development organizations just to keep the Sierra club from interfering with their activities in desert tortoise environment. Supposedly, the Sierra club was going to relocate the disturbed desert tortoises. It was later learned that the Sierra club arranged for the tortoises to be kept in overcrowded pens, until they were eventually destroyed. This is just one example of the many shady activities that the organized eco terrorists are guilty of. Thanks to people like yourself, we have lost millions of acres of family activity area just because of your "special interest" desires. Studies have shown that families that participate in OHV activities together, stay together longer and the children are less likely to be involved in criminal activities. But that doesn't matter to "ego" terrorists like yourself. All you can see is that people that don't think like you are misguided or just plain criminal. You wonder why we have special interest groups based on motorized recreation like the AMA, ABATE, etc. Why do they exist? Because WE want them to. You don't seem to understand that the majority of the American public does not agree with, or sympathize, with people like you. And for me, thank GOD they do exist. It is one of the few ways that we can keep zealots like yourself under control. As an American you have the right to your opinion. However, as an American I have the right to tell you to keep your hands off my BBQ's, my steaks, my chops, my chicken, etc. If you don't want to eat meat, then don't. But keep away from my rights as an American to eat as I like, and to recreate as I like. In fact, I'm sure many would appreciate if you kept your "ego" mentalist ideas to yourself. This is not the forum for them.
