Hey THX Gino,
I'd like to hear from the other glowing Los Alamos listers out
there. Anyway.... I was able to return to my slightly smoke damaged
house. Stinky but standing. No gas, so no warm showers yet but that
should be fixed by today, good thing too

. We'll slowly be returning to
normal lives. The fires still burn but they don't threaten the
townsite. Shoot there's not much left to burn. I'm one of the fortunate
ones as I still have a house. The nearest total loss houses are about 1/8
mile from me. My family is still suffering from smoke inhalation and
allergic reactions to the smoke, but I don't think those chunks are
actually lung pieces. I hope.

Many thanks to the wonderful people of the State of New Mexico (bad drivers
and all). They really came through in short order.
Have a great day.

Best of luck to you and your family. Nice to hear some first-hand
good news instead of what I've seen on TV. Hope the rest of the
affected Listers and others fare as well.
Cheers,
D.

[dsn_klr650] airbox modification
Posted: Thu May 18, 2000 3:25 pm
by Jim Jackson
It's been a while since I was in auto shop but I seem to recall that the
venturi effect of a carburator is such that as more air flows through more
fuel is sucked into the flow. So more air at any engine speed simply equates
to higher air velocity at the bottle neck (the venturi) of the carb. So the
jetting would just have to accomodate the max air that will flow at each of
the three carb circuit positions.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
