nklr help for a friend with a suz

I have a friend with an ancient SP 500. He has asked yours truly for help getting his front sprocket off. I have not looked at the bike yet, but he has tried everything I suggested but to no avail. Tonight he plans to bring the bike to me so that we can try my impact gun on the single nut holding the sprocket on the output shaft. I plan to keep the tranny in neutral to avoid any internal damage. My question is this: Is there any chance that the sprocket nut has reverse thread? Any input is welcome. Rob
