I've never owned a set of them, but I've rode with people that have rode
some really rough stuff with them. I wouldnt trust them in deep sand or
mudd, but if you lower the tire pressure while off roading, they do pretty
good. I've heard they are good street tires with long life.

I think of them more as 80/20 but it all so relative...let's put it this
way...they excel at doing what the KLR does...traveling any number of miles
you want and jumping off the pavement to tackle anything anyone could call a
road as well as some not too technical trails...

Correct - but you should never mount a tube-type tire on a
tubless rim.

Can't help you here, anyone on the list know?

I don't think so.

See the enclosed attachment.

Yes, see the attachment.

Pirelli's 1998 catalog ratings for dualsport tires:
street off-road
MT21 20 80
MT70 50 50
MT60/R/RS 80 20
MT80/R/RS 95 5
My Gripster 130/80-17 rear tire has about 1/2" clearance
between the sidewall & the muffler's 'chamber' under the
rear fender. Check rear tire width carefully.
Now would be a good time to relocate your license plate so that
the tire doesn't munge the plate on full compression.
The following attachments are from the Dennis Kirt Dirt Bike
Catalog & the 1998 Pirelli motorcycle catalog. Pirelli's
catalog can be picked up at better m/c dealers or accessory
stores.
