Peter, I'm wondering if instead of going for the long ball you might try and just get an extra base hit...so, instead of trying to get someone from New York, try hooking up with someone from New York through _____________ (Chicago, Pittsburg...or just the midwest). Also, here's another angle, if we could find a bike for you out here would that interest you? In other words, fly out and use a borrowed/rented bike for the few days in Moab? Kurt

will slide away from the barrel and onto the muffler tube. With the exhaust system bolts loose you ought to be able to pull the beginning of the exhasust pipe away from the barrel. In the hole where the beginning end of the exhaust pipe just came out of the barrel there should be this 'copper sandwiched donut' take it out. Get a new one. Put the front of the exhaust back in the hole at the barrel. Re position the flange. Now put the two nuts back on and tighten evenly and firmly...until it feels like the new copper 'O' ring is about half smashed. Now, lastly, tighten all the remained bolts and nuts that hold the muffler in place.

that's sort of what i meant by the last message. i'd frankly be happy enough even if i could find someone half way there to meet up with and ride the remainder.

i thought of that, but i kinda figured it probably wasn't a very viable option. is there really someplace down there where i could rent/borrow a bike to use? i'd definitely fly out there to attend if that were the case. _pete
