How is the neutral light switch? Any oil near the balancer chain
adjuster plug?

Like Dr. Science, you know more than I do Professor. Still, I'd check that
oil drain plug first. Hope it's close to oil change time. Bogdan

Mister_T,
Now that you mention it, there was quite a bit of oil near the neutral light switch, but not the balancer cahin adjuster plug. What's your opinion? I had to replace the rubber o-ring/washer behind the wire that plugs on to the neutral light switch, it was split and caused my neutral light to be on continuously through all gears. Could this indicate something?

Well, that's one way to load your bike in a minivan...But seriously, a while
back someone posted a question about loading their KLR in a Dodge minivan.
Did you succeed? If so, how? Did you just use the seat mounting brackets for
tie-downs? I'm curious cuz my other ride is a Plymouth Voyager (at least
until I can scrape together some truck funds).
