My little sister is one of those. What's that they say, if your 20 and not a liberal you don't have a heart, if you're 30 and a liberal you dont have a brain? ANyway, she has a stockpile of hiking mags. I was reading one where a writerw anted to see the other side, so he arranged to go four-wheeling with a jeep guy Boy was this a funny one.... First, he stated that he usually only gets a mile or so away from where he parks his car. yet he whined continually about the noise created by off-road vehicles. So as long as the noise is just as far away as the convenience of his car, it is ok, but anyone intruding on HIS personal camping and hiking area is incredibly rude and intrusive and should go away! Then he didn't even give the jeep guy a chance. He just wrote, I kept thinking I wonder if there are mountain lion tracks over there, but because I am in the jeep I can't see that. What an idiot! I mean just how stupid are these people? Yep, you are not allowed to stop the jeep, get out and walk around. Nope, I don't see how anyone could find a way to possibly do that. He refused to give the jeep a chance, just kept whining about how he wanted to walk. Totally missed the point of the excercise he was out there to test! I love these hikers that scream and yell they want to see the countryside in quiet. Well, sure, these mag writers and rich can afford to take a month or two off from work to hike all the way out to see a specific land area. Me, I take a bike out there so I can see the country. I don't have months of vacation to hike it out there. The use of my motorcycle allows me to economically view the countryside. Logic and rational communication will not work these days in the US. There are other topics that have a similar fate. People just blindly follow someone because they seem so nice. They then put their hands over their ears and start yelling, "I CANT HEAR YOU" over and over when you try to tell them the truth about things. They refuse to acknowledge reality. It is quite frightening.
