So, I'm in the downwind side of getting the project DR650 back together and
fighting the urge to take shortcuts. The former owner had "complete service:
valve adj; airfilter, oil and filter" written in the log in the back of the
service manual and that was only 2,000 miles ago. So, I thought, cut
yourself a break and skip the valves. Nahhh...
So, off came the covers, pulled the carb (it was a little in the way and I
have to put the Factory jet kit in), the magneto and crank plugs...line her
up on TDC and check the valves. They're adjusted perfectly! except for one
thing...the person doing the service confused the intake and exhaust
valves...big difference in specs....anyone ever seen that before?
