[dsn_klr650] gripsters
Eric,If it's not readily apparent where the leak is coming from, it would be best to first throughly clean your engine & then go for a brief ride & then look for leaks. Before you do this, remove the counter-shaft sprocket cover & see if there's a leak coming from that area. Keep in mind if you recently lubed you chain, the excess may have been thrown off the spinning chain & collected in the front sprocket area & oozed out. Often times an oil leak will be in one place, but at riding speeds, the wind will make it appear to be leaking from somewhere else. You may have to remove the bash plate to find out where the leak is coming from. The leak may not be from the left side, but it appears to be there because of your bikes lean on the sidestand. It's not a bad idea to check all engine case bolts anyway.
Re: Avon Gripster AV34, it's my impression that the list's overall like of the Gripster is for the 'lower priced spread', the AM-24 Gripster. Let us know how the AV34 performs, road/dirt, wet/dry, overall handling, mileage, etc.

The Gripsters came highly regarded on the list and am anxious to find out why-- (riding like a granny for the first 50 miles). Just thought I'd share: I'm searching for a small oil leak coming from the left side case. Possibly the bottom case fastener bolts need tightening or counter sprocket seal leaking? Anyone ever had this problem? Will be checking case bolts tomorrow but would appreciate some advise. TIA (thanks in advance) > Eric > A 8 > Mean Green
