Dear collective, After having my car totaled from the rear on a straight-away while turning left, in broad daylight, I have become paranoid. Short of pulling a 30 foot long "spike strip trailer" behind the bike, I am contemplating doing what a friend does and recommends: He drilled a hole in the driver side floorboard of his car, and installed a funnel. Upon someone following dangerously close, at his discretion, would commence pouring .177 caliber "BB" ammo (out of a milk carton) into the funnel. He claims nothing else is as effective at removing nuisances quickly. I believe a camera shutter release cable could be mounted to the handlebars to open a trap door on a dispenser. Any ideas on safe mounting locations, ways to accomplish this, or moral/ethical/legal advice would be greatly appreciated. I got the plastic and fuel tank package from Dual Star last week and got around to opening the boxes up last night. These are the take off parts from bikes purchased by the Marine Corp (or army?) The plastic looked all new and only thing I noticed missing was the 650 decals from the side covers. The tank has several chips in the paint. Now this is a deal without warranty so I knew that I could not expect perfection or new condition about any pieces not being perfect. The paint chips are small but noticeable on close inspection. Just thought other may want to know.
