I didn't loosen the triple clamps when I did mine. Spacer needs to be shortened 1/2" to 1". Oil should be changed at the same time and I think is 420ml or 7 1/2" from the top of the tube. (check the archives) Todd A9

Ooops...That should be: "The newer silver colored progressive springs should use spacers that are 2 inches in length." If the spacers are much over 2" then spring will collaps completelly before the fork bottoms (not good). I will try and find the measurements that I took when I changed over to the new springs and post them. Don

I love Kendas, and while they don't handle as well as the Gripsters I had, I don't find them squirly. They get a little unstable above 95mph when I have loaded saddlebags on my bike though. But hey, nothing beats $68 for a set of tires! Mark B2 A2

I just put a wrench on it and took it out. My clamps are about 1/8" below the cap. Do you think they might need tightening? Todd A9
