Hey, guys. Yet another newbie here - been around for a while in digest mode, but the Euro discussion prompted me out in the open. First with the formalaties. I'm in the military, stationed in Italy (Aviano) and absolutely love it. (Italy that is!) I've got a Y2KLR w/2500 miles on it - and quite a few mods so far. Got quite a few questions but first I must apologize. I cannot access the archives (tried for about 3 weeks now) - my guess is the military proxy server I am on somehow blocks it. Please bear with me. Has anyone converted the seat so it is detachable w/o taking the side panels off? I've got a set of givi saddlebags and the side racks make it a pain to get the panels off, much less the seat. I am considering the fuse box relocation, but havent pulled the trigger. Plus the fuse box isn't the only reason I want under the seat. Is there a place somewhere which contains the past articles for the KLR? I am an information hound and I have a listing of most of them (from the major mags) - about 12 or 13. I can post if anyone is interested. I am going to get DSN, but what about back issues? Are they available? The KLR (DSN) website - is it periodically updated? The supertrapp muffler has been on the monthly review for at least 5 in a row... And for my quick .02 about Europe. It is wonderful having a bike here. Cagers all have children and grandparents riding scooters so they actually acknowledge your existance. Speed limits only mean something in towns and danger zones. Everywhere else it's a free for all. And road lines are always optional. Lane splitting galore and no one cares! The biggest danger here is one's self - no self control = pain. I live at the base of the dolomites and there is nothing like it! I'm sure I have left out something, but I will be around for a while. Looking forward to your comments.
