I just got one of those by mistake (ordered the thermometer) and noticed that the card can't even rotate unless the whole compass is essentially level. Add the errors imposed by the large metal mass of the klr in close proximity and I think you can put it in the useless trinket category - while it's mounted on the handlebar, anyway.
