KLRs have been used as police bikes in California; San Francisco and Eureka  (at least) .

A couple of months back I was talking to a Police officer in Walnut Creek CA.  He was riding a KLR250 ! He spends most of his day patrolling the parks on it (What a life ) Regards Mark KLR 650 A13 Lock stock and one chirping barrel At 09:56 AM 4/20/00 -0700, Drew wrote:

Greetings All, I would be very grateful for help with any of these questions also: (continued from previous post) 6. Type of brake fluid shipped from the factory on KLRs? (man. says must flush system if brand/type change. They make 3 recommendations, I know, but ???) 7. Where can I buy the Moose bash plate, modified for extra water pump protection? 8. Who can order a Nolan N70 [cool dirt/street hybrid] helmet in XXL? (not importing larger than XL to USA after 1999?) I have a credit card. 9. Does anyone know the Ascerbis part # for their disk protector specificallly for the KLR? (Don't like the idea of _anything_ "universal" mount ;) 10. Ascerbis "Rally Pro" the best metal hand/lever protector? 11. Running Duralube engine treatment with no oil for less weight? I'm kidding about that last one, but couldn't resist! Thanks again for your kind help. I'm thrilled with the bike and wish I could buy another to save just in case they stop making them. Love
