Really? You think that Love and Power are different? I don't think that Power=Control. But I do think that to properly Love, you need to have internal Strength and Power (ability to use Strength in a Controlled, not Controlling) fashion. I believe there is need for Power. Internal, Self-Contained Power. Without that, a desire to express Love will often shrink into something small and ignoble. But perhaps we just have different definitions of words. That's often what these discussions come down to, even if we're both speaking our native born tongue. What color is yellow?
> (Every time I've posted the "L" word someone has gotten angry, isn't it > strange?)
Not really all that strange. Most people are uncomfortable with a frank discussion of their emotions in public. And most people embody their discomfort with anger.
> I quote (and translate from Spanish)
I could almost hold this conversation in French, but my Spanish is way too weak. So I'm glad that you speak English as well as you do. Because you're fun to discuss things with. Perhaps we should continue off-list so as not to clutter.
> "Dao being eternal, has no name, > It's simplicity is small, yet it can be utlilized by no one > If Kings and Governors would subject themleves to it > ...the people, free from government, would live in absolute harmony"
This is only true if the people also follow the way of Tao. Another biker list that I'm on is run as an anarchic community. The "listmeister" makes sure the computer sends messages out. And that's it. If some list member "old or new" oversteps an acknowledged bound of the community (by spamming, for instance) they get sniped from about 20 angry directions. And if they do it again, the hounds of hell are sent to their door. If some list member oversteps a personal bound of someone on the list, that person is free to say something, but, quite frankly, free use of the delete key and a thick skin is encouraged. I think I'd rather be rebuked once by Arne than once by every person on a 500 person list who didn't want to receive spam. There are things that work on smaller lists that just don't scale well... ---o&>o--- Sarah Barwig sarah@...

>>>So, Raamses, what are you studying? Expiring minds want to know.
I'll be entering the social psychology program. You guys didn't think I was on this list for motorcycle info did you? I'm gathering data on in-group cohesion and conflict. Oooooh boy, I've been getting some good numbers! Didn't you sign that informed consent when you joined the list? ;^) Later, Raamses http://www2.50megs.com/raamses/vita.htm
