A friend of mine did this with 1 day, JB weld, and desert sand to form the
mold. So it can be done, but definitely not fun.

While lurking on the KLX list, some discussion came up about this bead breaker /
tire irons.

Only one testimonial, but it sounds positive.
Has anyone out there seen or heard about these things? Sounds like it could be
a good tool to throw in the tool kit.
