Nice job Dennis - how did you do it? What kind of prep etc? I like the nice simple design as well. Of course I would paint everything OD Green... See ya, Les

[dsn_klr650] 20 dollar paint job

Very nice Dennis, Question though. That white panel on the tank (inside of thigh), is it an adhesive vinyl or is it paint? I just painted my bike as well. I went to frame though. I gotta post pics. My neighbor and friends think I'm nuts. Anyway, my paint is a matte finish and would like to cover the crotch and thigh area of the tank with a clear adhesive vinyl, satin is prefered. I haven't found any yet. If someone knows of a source I'd be very happy. Did you strip the Tank or paint over it? I stripped every last bit of paint, on the frames as well. The best stuff in the world for doing this is called Aircraft remover. Given a good application, a semi warm day and a couple of beers this stuff will successfully remove your aircraft from any fine paintjob. Wear about 5 layers of gloves and don't go pee until you have washed up at least 10 times with GOJO. I got a little drop of that stuff on my forearm and it literally burned a hole in me. Ouch. Excellent Alan. I hope that the experience will be similar for all. There is a slight learning curve, but once we get over it, we'll be fine. One of the features that I really like is the ability for anyone on the list to go into their "profile" (from www.egroups.com) and make any changes they want with their subscription and settings with only a few clicks. Makes things very handy if you want to stop your mail (you don't have to unsubscribe) for the weekend if you're going away, switch to Digest for awhile, etc.. Another thing is trip reports. Previously I had to forward reports to the list that were sent to me. Now anyone can post from anywhere. (Just remember your username and password). Cheers, Arne
