I just received and read the February -- March issue of Dual Sport News.
Very nice indeed! The color covers are just what DSN needed to complete the
transition from newsletter to magazine. Right from the beginning, with Kurt
Simpson's editorial, I was impressed by the quality of writing. In my
opinion, this standard is maintained throughout the magazine. Gino, of
course, is a well-known professional and I enjoyed his dual sport analysis
and look forward to reading the next installment. I always enjoy the
tongue-in-cheek commentary on Paris-Dakar-Cairo by Ernest Phillips. Chris
Scott's North Africa story was a fascinating account of an exotic location
I'll never see. I was especially touched by Marge Gunderson's story --
perhaps because she started riding about the same time I did (although she
is younger than me). Tobin Lampson's Quota test was the best I've read -- no
clich s or too-clever jargon; just plenty of description, impressions and
genuinely useful opinion. Kurt's penetrating look at the company's past and
future is a professional touch. Jim Wimmer's "Deep Thoughts" were a touch of
poetry. Eldon Carl's Technical Insights offer both interesting speculation
and truly useful information. Stuart Heaslet's windshield review will be
appreciated by many KLR owners.
My sincere compliments to the editor, publisher and all contributors.
