Hey L
Go with the used one to be sure! Need reasons?
1. You don't have to worry over that first scratch, virgins are never as much fun.
2. You will learn to be a mechanic 1 year earlier.
3. Fred needs the money! And a vacation.
4. The colors are better!
5. You get to learn to change tires at least 3000 miles earlier.
6. You can change the oil the day you get it! Just ask the list for a recommendation.
7. Put it in the bedroom and do a valve adjustment tonight!
8. You can go like hell now, rather than go through that break in period, see virgin.
9. Get wiped by a cage, or have it stolen, and you cry less.
10. Most likely needs sprockets and chain now, download Gear Calc and see what else you can buy from Fred.
Ah the reasons go on and on. Go for it Man, get the used one, you will be glad you did!

Hey Zack
Never seize is a good idea, just stay away from the stuff that contains copper! I'm an outboard mechanic here in FL. and see that mistake often. The copper will react with the aluminum/steel combo and weld the parts together! As in permanently. Don't use anything on the head bolts, including oil/grease, changes the torque value. Take out the bolts holding the t-stat, and water pump NOW and coat them with nickel based never seize. This stuff is sold at most parts stores. Another item for the "oh shit" file is High-Tack gasket sealer. Fantastic stuff, in the right place. Never use it on anything that comes in contact with the cooling system, has copper in it as well. Just some notes from experience.

Hi Guys,
just been having a look through the files and noticed an interesting
black supermotard. It's in the directory Raz pics/klr-mottard.jpg
Does anyone (Raz?) have any more information please ?
P.S. Bierdo, loved the pictures on your formtechservices site. I wish the
weather was that nice over on this side of the pond..

Go to your local parts house and get the Good Year #63936 heater hose. This unit is around 3 ft. long with a pre-formed bend at one end- for the water pump to cyl. route. The other 2 hoses can be perfectly cut from the remaining hose. $23.00 as opposed to that chicken shit hose Kaw sells for $50.

Shane, Thanks for the info. Is the bend so sharp that it has to be preformed? I can't remember what it looks like righ now. What diameter is the hose? Brad> Shane

The only law I found as far as age as a passenger on a motorcycle,
they have to be able to touch the footrests..

BlankRick, very well said! If I had the jingle I would not think twice in getting a F650. With all the money I have spent, as you know, on my 99KLR I could have purchased a Dakar w/ saddle bags. As usual...you make excellent points.

Fred, What do you charge for a magneto holder? You know it's the
special Kawi tool that along with the puller is needed to remove the
magneto. Looks like a big open end wrench. Don't have the # here at work.
Rich Kickbush from the list wrote me that they want $60 for it in Canada and
asked what it was here. I think I paid less than $15 . Bogdan
