What do you guys recommend for type of oil (synthetic or regular) and what viscosity do you recommend? oil change
I used Mobil 1, cage for the first 40/50K or so.( I did that so I could postpone oil changes a bit while on the road.) I then switched to Rotella 15/40 Dino because my engine began using a bit more oil about a quart every thousand miles as synthetics seem to exacerbate that situation.
I also put a micrometer to my clutch plates at 70K miles. ( I was in there while replacing my water pump. ) The plates measured as new.
Bogdan, who's deciding wether to ride this weekend the first chilly one in Colorado this fall.

Rottella T 5-40 synthetic (diesel truck oil)
Ya it sounds strange, But when I visited John Biccum, The timing was right He was inspecting his clutch and I seen his clutch pads (70,000 miles?+-) and also Rode his bike at high and low speeds, climbing mountains....I was SOLD been using it in all my bikes as he does every since.
Get the Gallon jug at Walmart or when on sale at an auto parts store. $18-19. CHEEPER then $8-10 a quart AND BETTER.

I was able to use the same wires and just drilled two holes in the rear of the fender to allow rerouting of the wires.
