Agreed! A R1 would overheat in short order in NYC, too. As someone once wrote, it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slowly. I occasionally commute on a FZ8 and stop-and-go can be a pain. However, the lumpier streets on a "shortcut" make owning a KLR that much more enjoyable! eddie

Anybody read the comparison in this months Rider ( I think) magazine between our beloved KLR and the 650 BMW single? Seems like the KLR won the comparison. They said the KLR was a more comfortable ride and they liked the powerband even though it had less ponies. Criswell Sent from my iPad

The great thing about the F650 is that it is the bike that got me interested in having a dual sport. So I bought a DR650. Then I bought a KLR. Then I bought a newer DR 650, which I like best of all. So now I have a KLR and a DR650, but no BMW 650, and I don't want one.

I've had my bikes insured with Progressive for at least 15 years now. Luckily I've never had a claim, but from what I've heard from other people it's not a big deal. As for who owns it, the same could be said for a lot of companies. Uhaul is one as well, but I won't tell people to not rent a Uhaul because of it. I'd rather not comment on what their owners do. As long as the customer doesn't have issues on their end, I don't think who owns it is really relevant. Sure you can make the argument that you don't want to support that kind of a person, and rightly so you shouldn't have to.
