I have the kawasaki tank bag and am really happy with it. But it's not much more than a glove box (i just need to hold flashlight and junk) so if you are looking for some luggage, it's not good for that. --- John wrote:

I have a Wolfman Explorer that I switch between the V-Strom and KLR. Fits perfectly on both bikes. I bought it with the KLR harness and made some straps for the V-Strom. Any of the Explorers will fit and work well. The DS bag is well-made, but can be a pain to detach, especially with a Corbin seat. The KTM bag for the 640 Adventure also fits the KLR. About $80, the expandable bag unzips and leaves a harness and pad in place. Nice bag. Around here, I see a lot of them on DR650s with the IMS tank.

The kawi bag is nice because of how cleanly it mounts, but it also sits awkwardly close to you (on the slope of the tank rather than up top) which is somewhere between ok and horrendous depending on where you sit and if you stand... it also has a tendency to spill its guts when you open it. Not much of a problem if you have gloves and a sweatshirt in it, more of an issue if you're carrying miscellaneous stuff. I got one with my bike and sold it after a season. I have a tourmaster tribag I got for a song that I use on my nighthawk a lot. It works fine on the KLR on pavement, but extended dirt road bouncing (to say nothing of trying to trail ride with it) bounce it around too much (it has a magnetic base). It's so huge (one of those zip together options) that I use it as a tail pack with bungees and use the smaller part as a tank bag... but it wouldn't fit any better than your strom pack I'd think. I've got a couple friends with nothing but great things to say about the explorer lite and that's what I'd be looking for if I had the cash to lay out. -Luke --- Jud Jones wrote:

Wolfman makes good stuff and stands behind it. They also make a KLR- specific harness. I have the Explorer and love it. __Arden

Two years and still very pleased with my Gears brand magnetic tank bag. The magnetic mounting is very secure even off road and the ease of removal for security when parking at restaurants, etc. is very handy. HIH Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have the Wolfman Explorer Lite and I am quite happy with it. I only used it for a short time with the stock gas tank and KLR- specific harness before I switched to an IMS tank, but it's been able to work well in both configurations. I haven't had the pleasure of trying it out in the rain, but it has been quite convenient and functional in the dry, and I can adjust the straps to keep it out of the way standing or sitting. (The bars will brush against it a bit at full lock with the IMS tank, but it doesn't get crushed, nor does it prevent the bars from reaching full lock.) It's also pretty quick to detach so that you can fill up; just undo the two clips closest to the seat and flop it up over the bars. When you're done, lengthen the straps a bit so that they're easy to clip, the cinch down tight. I'll second that. Quite expensive, but worth it. don a17

I have a Wolfman Expedition tank bag. I've ridden through pouring rain and even left the bike outside during a heavyrainstorm while camping and everything inside stayed dry. The only addition I've made to it was purchasing the 8-1/2" x 12" map pocket. I really like this set-up. Ross --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, Blake Sobiloff wrote:

Any suggestions on a reasonably price tank bag?
