Settle down gang, or Sheriff Fred will have to lay down the law.
People buy all kinds of things for image and appeal. Its human nature, and
a lot of time it makes no sense. But than how many things in this world do?

Was that too personal for you? lol, ed, who frankly is surprised that the list moderator allows this off-topic crap to continue. A17 04 Harley-Davidson

Bought it because it's simple, reliable, and about the only other bike that I've ridden that is as much fun as my KLR. My Sportster is not a cruiser. It has a standard UJM sitting position and ergonomics with a very torquey engine. If you want to check out my next Harley, do a web search for the new XR1200 Sportster. ed

Ed in imho the sportster is one of the better deals out there esp
after the o4's rubber mounted and this year fuel inj. I have an 02
buell and I love it nothing but routine main for many miles. Like my
klr but diff type of ride. I have farkled it more than the harley if
you can believe that. LOL Keith

Sorry you missed my point Ed. You bought it because it appeals to your idea
of fun. People buy KLR's for image and appeal. People buy all kinds of
autos for image and appeal. People buy computers for image and appeal
(think Mac) etc., etc., etc. Sometimes more for practical appeal than
unpractical image. In other words, I don't care what you or anybody rides,
that's why its called freedom. We are not better or worse because of what
we own or don't own, what we ride or drive, where we live, what kind of job
we have, etc. etc. I hope that clarifies my opinion.

While I believe 10% of hd owners richly deserve every rotten thing Don said, I think it's time to move on.
Wannabe HD biker guys AND loud-racepipe-using sportbike squids both piss me off- they are collectively the reason that people look at me like I'm a direct descendant of judas iscariot when I tell them I ride a motorcycle.
Add to that dumbass loud-fourstroke-dirtbike-can't-ride-singletrack-so-i'm-riding-WFO-down-a-candyass-dirt-road guys, and that's who's pissing me off this week.
