Sounds like the float is stuck open. Try turning the petcock off and run the bowl out of fuel. Now with the butt of a screwdriver give the float bowl a few firm taps. Turn the petcock back on and start to see if it is fixed. Repeat if necessary. Note - this only works with a petcock that has an off position. Some KLR's were equipped with a petcock without an off position. If you have one of these use a vise grip or other type of clamp to pinch the fuel line closed in place of the off position. Walt
