After reading most of the reponses I'm not sure I'm qualified to own
my KLR650. I am only 31.

I have been riding since I was 16, am currentyl 51 and on my 2nd KLR650. 1rst one had 65K miles when I lost it. This one (95) has 33K miles, about half over. Do you ride strictly dirt as well, or is the KLR the only ride? I have a Husky 430XC when I want to get serious. See ya> Let's here it.

I'm 44.5 years old but feel like I'm 30. If I didn't
have kids and a mortgage I'd say I feel, oh, about....
21 or so I guess. This may sound silly but buying the
KLR changed my outlook on life. Now I ride, dream
about future trips, ride.. you get the picture. I like
the KLR because it is easy to work on, gets great gas
mileage and is durable enough to go trans-continental.
In the fall I am planning on riding the Blue Ridge
Parkway and down the outer Banks of North Carolina.
The first real motorcycle I rode was a friends Yammy
350 Enduro back when I was in high school. Oh yeah, my
wife even says I am happier, go figure! Of course this
list is a big part of the KLR and so you guys get some
credit for my attitude realignment. Thanks everyone.
Ramble Mode Off,
Brad in North Carolina

46 here.
Seeing I am not too out of range looking at all the others who reported age.
Wonder what the "young people" are riding these days.
My other rides are Guzzis and figured I was joining a younger crowd with the
KLR.
I rode in my 20's. 72 Honda 350, 78 Yamaha 750 (shaft), 78 R60/7 and 79 Suzuki
450. (about 3 years)
Sold them and took off the next 20 years having kids.
The kids grew up and I went thru my second childhood with 78 R80/7 (sold), 98
Guzzi EV, 96 Speed Triple( sold), 00 A-14, 01 Guzzi Rosso Sport.
Seems like that is typical for a lot of riders I have come into contact. They
stop riding to rear kids, then return to riding.
If I had to do it over again, I would have continued to ride.
average klr's riders age
47.
