You're right. It's that sheep mentality that I have succumbed to. Gino

I am thinking Hot Grips too. Does someone have the measurments for the stock set up. I am at work and would like to order today. I need the handle bar Diameter and the lenth of the grip. I will have to have the ends cut for Acerbis hand gaurds. Also, is it possible to use the hidden wire version? Biker Mike (needin' to spend some money) -----Original Message----- From: k650dsn@... The grip heaters from Enduro are nice, but not very effective when the temps dip into the mid 20's like this morning. The problem is the left side element has to heat a frigid handle bar too. The Hot Grips bury their element in the rubber grip, thus insulating it from the cold handle bar. From what I have seen, the Hot Grips are not universal, they have to cut the end off for you if you have Rally Pro or similar hand guards and the have to be the correct length. Gino

This debate over the Darien jacket and whether it is comfortable raises a key point about riding gear. There are no 'right' answers. There are better and worse answers. (No gear is a worse answer.) The important thing is not which jacket/glove/boot is best, it is which one works well enough for you that you will wear it everyday. >>Does someone have the measurements for the stock >>set up.
I ordered #475-875 Fits 7/8" bars, overall length 4.75", grip OD 1.44" They will drill out the end at no cost. I recommend letting them drill out the ends. You can install plugs on your bar if you do not have Acerbis hand guards. You never know if you might change your mind...
>>Also, is it possible to use the hidden wire version?
I guess you could but I do not beleive it is worth the extra work and the trouble of drilling holes in your bars... Dana

Indeed yes. I have the Desert Bends and run Rally Pro's w/spoilers and they fit great.. solid piece of equipment. I also filled my bars with urethane window sealant, and the improvement over the stock buzzy P.O.S. bars is nothing short of amazing.. As far as the pullback, width, etc. there is a nifty chart at http://www.geocities.com/~klrdsn/page43.html but of course you know that 'coz 3 people replied in the same damn digest I just read. I should really read the whole thing before replying!! Cheers CA Stu
