Hey Guys,
Does anyone have (or know of) a side photo of a KLR
*without* it`s tank and bodywork? Basically the bike stripped to the
frame. Any assistance appreciated!

Hey guys Thanks for all the help it's not as hopless as thought!
Great tips can't wait to get home from work to play. And Mark you are
always seeming to do interesting things to the bike, why get rid of
the dyno kit???? Do it like me,,,, ride it like you stole it! That's
why they sell replacement parts. Ride hard, get wet, don't put it up
till you just can't go anymore! R.J. A-18

This just in off the scanner.........2,000 acre fire in Coyote Canyon, with
no estimate of time of containment. Went from 50 acres to 1500 acres in
about 20 minutes. Traveling in a northerly direction into Riverside
County. 20 CDF engines, at least 10 handcrews, 3 choppers from SD County
and all available SoCal aircraft committed so far, unsure of Riverside and
Federal resources.
CDF and Sheriffs have evacuated the Lost Valley Boy Scout Camp as of an
hour ago.
Fire seems to be kicking ass and taking no prisoners at this time.
Now that I'm retired, I'm not sure if I miss all this fun or not. I'll
have to wait until I catch my first whiff of smoke, I guess. Glad it's not
in Julian.

To whom it may concern,
Several months ago, you sent me a COBRA ISDE/4 STROKE EXHAUST to replace the
one that blew out on my KLR motorcycle. I told you that it looked like the
baffle had beaten it s way out of the aluminum canister that covered it. The
new COBRA ISDE/4 STROKE EXHAUST that you sent me, which now only has 1200
miles on it, has two dimples already. The dimples are close to where the
baffle rests inside the canister. I will keep you posted on the degradation
of the unit. Is this a common problem? Do I need to invest in a different
after market exhaust for my otherwise stock motorcycle?

hey all
My klr has recently been sputtering and losing power when I am going over 4o
mph or so. I have not ridden the bike in a few weeks due to the arrival of a
new daughter. The bike has been sitting under a tree in the weather and has
been rained on. My gut feeling tells me the carb needs cleaning, it has
fresh gas and I have cleaned the spark plug. any other ideas?? thanks in
advance for the info...john

John, Try this... first, drain the carberator bowl via the small drain screw on the righthand side near the bottom. Close off screw after draining the carb. Warm the bike up and take it for a ride. On an empty street, take it up to speed where it starts sputtering again. Now, put the choke lever to the full ON position. Does it still sputter? Run worse? Run better? If it runs better (less sputtering) with the choke on, it means the main jet is probably clogged. After a few miles, stop the bike and open the gas cap. If you hear air rushing into the tank -it probably means you have a clogged tank vent. The clogged vent creates a vacuum that greatly reduces the fuel flow to the carb. Good luck, CA Mark> advance for the info...john

Dammmmmn, am I embarrased>
Mickey's little hand was doin' sumthin in his pants and I slightly
miscalculated the start of Tech V in Julian. TECH V IN JULIAN IS ON
SATURDAY, AUGUST 23rd.
Thanks to the brilliance of Mark B, I discovered the nefarious rodents
little trick.
Tech V in Julian, August 23rd at 0800 (or there abouts) with an Elden Carl
led ride after lunch. All for the same price. FREE.
Now I must find a large granite boulder to rent asunder with the constant
banging of my forehead.
See you on the 23rd.
embarassedly,
buddy
