Problem:
Suspected Doohickey failure.
Gamble:
Order Doohickey from Sagebrush Machine.
Inspection:
Broken Doohickey
Solution:
Replace with Sagebrush Doohickey.
WORRY
Torque Mag bolt to 130 ft/lbs. but did not replace. No mention of single
use in the manual.
Question: Get over it and enjoy or do it again?

Any knowledge of the Moose Expedition pants? Might be new this year. Sounds
like they might be good for dualsporting. Priced ok, $100.

Sounds like a dirty carb to me too. Have you adjusted
the air fuel screw?

Steven,
Mangle yourself - maybe
Mangle your Clearview 11 incher - yup - for sure.
Bend up your front fairing mounting brackets - probably.
Give ya one guess how I know this for a fact!!
Best thing I ever done on my KLR was give up on a windshield on my KLR. The
Clearview didn't work that well and sure as hell didn't last long off road.
The Kaw tall was just simply an expensive mistake. The stock shield sucks.
When I broke off the Clearview I was 700 miles from home and had to face a
ride home with no shield. Coming from a fully faired touring bike
background I was terrified. Turned out to be the nicest ride I ever had on
my KLR. Should have listened to Fred's advice month's earlier. Would have
saved me a bundle of money and a bunch of hassles. Give it a try.
George
Okay, all you dirtballs, answer this one. I got
a 2002 KLR A16 that has a GIVI tailbag and an
11" Clearview windscreen. I got an invitation to
do some dirt with another dirtball but I ain't
never done any dirt. The GIVI hardbody tailbag
comes off real easy with a key. The 11"
Clearview, on the other hand, is mounted with
hard-to-remove hardware. (I still have the
original short windshield in the garage but I'm
thinking it would be too much work to use it).
The question is this: am I gonna mangle meself
or me windshield real bad doin' dirt with a tall
shield? Thanks in advance for your replies and
your experience.

Couldn't you rivet the velcro to the bottom of the seat using fairly short
rivets?

KLR'ers -
Just got back from lunch with my local Kawasaki dealer (long time
friend ) and area Kawasaki rep - I was told that Kawasaki is offering
2.9 financing for 2 years, and 3.9 financing for 3 years on ALL
Kawasaki models. FYI
