For sale; KLR650 front and rear fender set--teal and purple fork gaiters.
Maybe $65 for the lot shipped UPS. Maybe a scratch on the front. Haven't
looked at it in so long I don't remember. I went to all white with a red
"hat" on the tank. Who comes up with color schemes ay Kawasaki?

my name is rick am using my wifes name is bee i wanted to now whats
the best after market pipe for the klr650 i bought a brand new one
last year am wanting to get some more power out of my bike so am
going to buy my first after market pipe does any one have any
pointers what one would be the best to go with on my bike thanks

Leave the stock one on it, your ears, neighboors and all wildlife will like you.
As most will tell you once you stick the "loud" pipe on it, you next move to the
carb and add more money, to rejet it, then have to move to the airbox to make
more air holes since the new fire breathing machine will not breath without air.
Woooo all this and your net gain in power ?? close to nothing..
Gain in "vroom Vroom" factor.. alot when twisting the throttle more and more.
I got a pipe (beat up Cobra, that I repaired) hanging in my garage, it will never go
back on, admit it seemed like I had a bit more power blasting up hills and such, but
I will bet that it was mostly I was twisting the throttle more than needed.
See the FAQ's, agree need to open the pilot needle some, to kill off the lean
surges and weak throttle responses.
Drilling the slide hole will also make the throttle respond faster. (yet to do)
Ensure the vavles are within spec, will again gain engine performance, as it
appears they tighten up alot in the first year or two. (spring project for me)
I had the same feeling.. I got a self-destructed pipe from a fellow lister, I then went
to town on it, shortened the can enuff to reclamp it, shortened the internal parts to
match the can length ( 1/2"~3/4" ) did a solid weld on internals instead of allowing
the 2 parts to have only spring tension. Made a new mounting point on bike frame
using OEM muffler mount points and a chunk of 1" barstock. Made new
header/pipe gasket using high temp boiler gasket, clamped the snot outta it, fired
up my bike (no baffle material in can yet) and thought my large picture windows
were going to shatter.. repacked can each time I started it, using various materials
to see if I could tone it down, starting with stainless steel pads, then combo mostly
ss pads/fiberglass, and ended up down to just fiberglass it progressively got more
tone, and little bit quieter, but still very loud.
I am hear a Laser Pro Duro is fairly quiet, but I have never heard one, and
somebody elses idea of quiet might just short of a F14 Tomcat at launch.
Admit the Laser Pro Duro looks nice.

Laser pro-duro is probably the best aftermarket pipe. The
cheaper ones either fall apart, or are insanely loud with
only 3hp gains and much worse fuel mileage.
Basically the KLR does not respond that well to changing out
the pipe. Turning out the idle mix screw a bit helps.
Put the pipe money into brakes or suspension instead.

I believe www.bikebandit.com has online parts fiche and you can order
the parts from them. I have in the past.
Also, you can order parts from www.ronayers.com , but you have to
have the parts number. They have some fiche on line, but I don't
think they have the KLR yet.
You can also see the parts diagrams at www.buykawasaki.com .
If the Kawi fan and radiator are too steep $, you might check with
Fred at www.arrowheadmotorsports.com , or the guys at www.dual-
star.com . Dual-Star sometimes has take-off plastic for some years. I
don't know that they can help you, but it's worth a try.

I second the recommendation for Myer's, a local shop said they couldn't fix
the radiator for my SV650, but Myer's was able to fix it.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows where to get 2003 KLR 650 parts reasonably priced? The motorcycle I just bought was wrecked and has some damage and parts need to replaced. I am needing Engine shroud, left and right. I am not concerned they match the paint of mine, plan on repainting someday anyway. Any suggestions?
