The one thing I miss about my Harleys is the auto-cancel turn
signals. J.C. Whitney sells a little beeper that tells you when they
are still on. I may order one.

Guy Young's original post (taken from this list) of the mod can be found on my website at http://www.angelfire.com/co/klr650/page20.html , complete with pictures and switch sources all linked from the page. I posted this before but inadvertantly lent it to Mark rather than the group. Kisan technologies makes a turn signal canceler - actually it just turns off the turn signal and you have to reset the switch manually - that fits the KLR650. It will also turn your single filament turn signals into running lights at 1/3 or 1/2 brightness and will make them 4 way flashers. http://www.kisantech.com/kisanWeb3/frameSample.htm The KLR takes the Model SM2. A little pricey at $99 but, it cancels your signals, makes your signals running lights and gives you 4 way flashers plus it works great. I had one on my Valk Standard. - -> are still on. Digressions on this topic and the stumble bumble.
Had a similar experience with my bike not capable of rpm greater than 3500 when the air filter got so dirty that the mixture was rich beyond function. Clean filter solved it, but the needle held aloft in this scenario by the plastic could be a contributor.
Have to say that even though the KLR runs well enough on marginal gas, stumbles, sags, bumbles etc. have largely disappeared for me since I've run ethanol free gas. Much better performance overall.

Does anyone have a better idea for a signal
light switch than Kawasaki?

This switch is great. The push-to-cancel rules.
I honestly don't know if this works on '08 and later...
