Interesting quote from the Christini links below: "... he can infiltrate inside and outside enemy lines using his motorcycle and not be very visible audibly to the enemy." Aside from the synesthesia of being "visible audibly", what I found interesting is that even on the BATTLEFIELD loud pipes lose rights...in this case the "right" to accomplish your stealthy mission undetected. I like getting into and out of the National Forests without being detected by the "enemy"; those folks that want to ban motorized recreation in the NFs and use noise emissions as the pretext. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Mike Frey Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2012 09:47 To: List KLR Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Army Evaluating Combat Motorcycles $7695. Street legal version here: http://www.christini.com/bikes/christini-awd-450-ds http://soldiersystems.net/2012/10/23/ausa-christini-motorcycles/ It's a Chinese made Honda CRF-450 "replica" under there. I assume that Honda allows this because Asiawing makes some of the Honda bikes and engines and is (or was) licensed to do it. http://www.asiawing.com/english/lx450e.html Too bad that the US military has to go to China to get equipment.

Post by Tengai Mark Van Horn » Fri Nov 30, 2012 9:31 pm

As some of you may know, my 15 year old daughter Evy, is an elite Junior Whitewater Slalom Kayaker. She is currently a member of the 2012 US Junior Team. At this year's Junior World Championshios, she had the highest finish among all American paddlers. She also earned the bronze medal at this years national championships race, and open event for juniors (age 15-18) and seniors age 19 and up). As a fund raiser to cover her travel expenses for the upcoming 2013 season, we crafted lightweight camp stove kits, with stoves manufactured from 20oz aluminum water bottles. While this technology is now new, we have done MUCH R&D to create a lightwaeught, durable stove with known performance characteristics in a variety of operating conditions. The kit includes: Stove (available if 4 colors- red, blue, green and pewter) Durable 4oz fuel bottle with child-proof cap 23" circumference aluminum wind screen with scalloped oxygen vents Cold-weather performance boosters: kevlar priming wick, reflective foil square and insulated stove base) 3mm neoprene drawsting carry pouch with belt-loop & hook, and enough room for additional accessories (matches, drinking cup, etc) Owners manual The price is $25 per kit, which includes shipping in the US lower 48 and funds can go via PayPal evy@... If you'd like to pay by cheque, send us an email Pic can be seen at http://s227.beta.photobucket.com/user/RandomTask_EHE/media/DSCF2065.jpg.html > http://s227.beta.photobucket.com/user/RandomTask_EHE/media/4Stoves.jpg.html> Note, because they are made by hand, you may experience *slight* cosmetic variations from kit to kit. However, all kits function 100% and will provide years of productive use. Thanks! Mark [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
