the quality of them varies tremendously. The ones with the bigger diameter magnet are much stronger(almost the same size as threads). The skinnier magnets are bunk. The skinny magnet could only pick up a couple of items out of my tool box. The larger diameter magnet picked up a whole bunch of stuff. Even some advertised as low profile aren't really low profile. I finally took a belt sander to my low profile large magnet drain plug and cut its profile in half. Now it is a low profile good magnet plug. J#3
