Joe, DON'T go there! Your history includes a Russian "BMW" sidecar rig, which I BELIEVE God's forgiven you for. I'm NOT sure He will forgive another...! Cheers, not-so-fast-Eddie ; >)

Ah yes, Fast Eddie, a Russian Ural, a truly dual purpose ride, and the good part, it doesn't make any difference how long your inseam. Yes, God has forgiven me, but I still look back on that sin with nostaglia. In the case of a Ural, dual purpose means on the job maintenance training and riding skill training. Joe Grove

They have made major advances in the dependability of the Ural. http://vimeo.com/9444789 Larry.

Correction - the meeting in Death Valley wasn't Enfields it was Ural. Current post reminded me. They were rock crawling with the dam things and most entertaining. Don't have the You Tube link but I'm sure you can find it by searching Ural & Death Valley. Impressive!

Must say the old school look has always held an appeal (says something about my age) but the older models weren't too reliable. That said, I've seen some side-hack video taken at Death Valley which blew me away. Guess there's a bunch of Enfield enthusiast who meet there every year. If I were there and saw a gaggle of Enfield's it would be fascinating to say the least.

Howdy Listers, Well, the ball joints on the truck got replaced this weekend. Wheel bearing packed and seals replaced. Engine tune up: rotor, cap, plugs and wires. That burned up this last weekend. THIS weekend I'm gonna start building my KLR, dangit! Towards that effort I realized that I probably won't remember exactly where every nut and bolt goes. No problem, as the micro fiche on Ron Ayers web site will list screw sizes and in most cases length. But here's what the parts diagrams don't tell me and I know I'll need assistance. Main wiring harness wiring routing. If someone can post or email me three or four pictures of the OEM wiring routing at these key locals: -the main frame and sub frame juncture -the main frame routing under or around engine mounts or other protrusions -the ignition/starter circuit side -the CDI bracket side I'll be mounting a KX450F front end, so I'll have no gauges to contend with for the moment and will just bundle the harness up and tuck it away for now. Thanks! Mech
