"Obviously 90% of riding is done below 8000 ft. And taking the cap out makes adjustment easy on the road; if you have the right screw driver. Jeffrey #3" That's great....if you want to adjust your pilot.  I don't.  I've got other ways I'd rather spend my time.  This is not disrespect, as you seem to think; it's just another perspective.  In fact, if you hang out a lot on lists like this you'd think everyone changes jets and exhausts and seats and shocks....whereas out there in the actual world there are lots of people just like me.  I meet them all over the Americas, and they're riding around, not changing out parts or adjusting carbs. I could offer a list of stuff considered essential that I never bothered dealing with, including seat (original), rear shock (original for 80k miles, then replaced with another original),exhaust (original until a baffle broke loose at 50k, replaced with another original) etc. etc. etc.  This might not work for you, but it works for me. Safe journeys! Mark (2007 on the verge of 92,000 miles, most of them heavily-loaded and burning Third World gasoline, often lubricated with whatever trashy motor oil I can find in the odd places I visit....)
