I agree with Devon, the handlebar inserts could tighten a bit more. Make sure to blue loctite them. If you do go with the Acerbis, do a search on the list for acerbis install tips. There was a recent thread I started about the throttle side installation and the use of drills / dremels. Great advice offered by other listers. I like the acerbis. I painted the mounting hardware black to make it match a bit better to the stock black bars. Philip

I've been through two sets of the Acerbis Rally Pro's with the windshields. They don't do a very good job of shielding your hands from the wind, and they do bend, and they're spendy. I'm going to look elsewhere for my next set... Thanks CA Stu A13 (Acerbis equiipped) A14 (Going to try Brand X on this one)

I don't know how much sense this will make, but here's my answer .... On my DRZ400, a bike with sex appeal run the sexy Italian Acerbis units. On my ugly duckling KLR I run ugly duckling Maiers .... from a pure engineering analysis the Maier is simplistic perfection and everyone else is trying to sell on sex appeal. Pat G'ville, Nv BTW, mounting handguards is about a six-pack job, and be sure to send the family to the movies if you don't want them to hear you cussing a blue streak. While not being nearly as bad, its a bit like mounting a Gripster. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

The link below in my signature should work, they are the Maier Deluxe Woods Pro with the EXC deflectors on them. They are far from elegant looking, but so is the bike. They also offer more wind protection than the stockers do which is a wonderful thing with temps in the 30's. -- ___ ______ _____ __ ________ ___ / _ |< < / == / ___/__ / /_ /_ __/ / __ ____ _ ___ /__ \ / __ |/ // / ****/ (_ / _ \/ __/ / / / _ \/ // / ' \/ _ \ /__/ /_/ |_/_//_/ == \___/\___/\__/ /_/ /_//_/\_,_/_/_/_/ .__/ (_) 8600 miles*Russel Lines*Supertrapp Race* /_/ http://www.kingsqueak.org/klr650/

It was $649, now they are selling for $599. The quality rivals a $3000 setup from Sears, very well made. It's stainless on the outside panels only, but has roller bearing slides, very heavy. It is absolutely made in China for anyone interested. -- ___ ______ _____ __ ________ ___ / _ |< < / == / ___/__ / /_ /_ __/ / __ ____ _ ___ /__ \ / __ |/ // / ****/ (_ / _ \/ __/ / / / _ \/ // / ' \/ _ \ /__/ /_/ |_/_//_/ == \___/\___/\__/ /_/ /_//_/\_,_/_/_/_/ .__/ (_) 8600 miles*Russel Lines*Supertrapp Race* /_/ http://www.kingsqueak.org/klr650/

Posting your pictures to a website, and then just including the link in your message is the best way in most forums, and the ONLY way here on the list. You can establish an account with Tripod, or some other freebie, or set up an account with an official photo sharing service such as ofoto: http://www.ofoto.com/Welcome.jsp You can also post pictures to the group's web page, but there is limited space and even good technical information gets flushed from time to time.
