tire size
Hi, just a quick question for you guys. I have a 2002 and I want to
put new tires on it. I currently have 130/80-17 on the rear. I am
looking at the Dunlop D606 but the only size that is close is
130/90-17. I know 17 is the rim size, I am guessing 90 is the width?
Will they fit on my bike?
Also, does anyone else have any other suggestions on 10% road, 90%
dirt tires?
And can anyone recommend a good website to purchase the new tires?
Thanks,
Ron

130 (mm) is the width, 90 is the ratio of ht to width, I think.

The list FAQ: http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html ... does list the 130/90-17 for the Dunlop D606, so I suspect it will fit. I am getting a new set of rubbers for my bike but have run into a
question I can't answer. What is the rim size of the KLR? I know it
is 21 in front and 17 rear but bike bandit is asking for rim size too.
It gives a couple options. I have a tire on the back now that is too
wide I think cause it rubs on my chain guard (bought it that way)and it
is a 5.10 x 17. Any ideas?

<><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> Paul, Sorry I don't know the rim width. But a 5.10 x 17 is the correct size for the rear. I've been running a Kenda K270 on the rear for over 23,000 smiles and have a nice v-groove worn in the chain guard. Thanks Jeff
Sounds like we have the same tire. I love it and am buying a new one
and one for the front too. Any idea what size the front is? I can
live with the groove in the chain guard on the back.
