I'd stick with the Linux version. Most of the computer virus & worms are constructed to attack M$ software. so if your main interest is e-mail and web surfing, Linux is the way to go. Cheap advice for a travel machine is to keep it very very simple... albatross who leaves the electronic leashes at home
