You don't say how old your KLR is, but if it's older, you should check the reflective coating inside the headlight housing. It goes away with age, leaving you with poor illumination no matter which bulb you use. __Arden --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "mr_jor " wrote:

Have you checked your headlight alignment? If you're having problems with it keeping it's alignment pull the fairing and look at the headlight bracket, it's mount points (to the fairing frame) are notoriously weak. If the reflector and the alignment is good, drop an 80/100W bulb in there, replace the headlight socket with the NAPA part and run new heavy gauge wire leads from the battery up to the headlight.

Yeah, I always recommend the doohickey replacement as the next logical step after replacing the stock hand grips. ;) -- Z DC A5X A11X

I installed an extra small halogen headlamp by the right side of the main headlight and the blinker, and ran the power right from the battery, and a switch. When in light foggy conditions, or when oncoming cars blind me, I can see the right edge of the road, and not run off the road. ( and see unlit bicycles) The high beam on the A-18 is more or less OK, but the low beam is not doing much. Part of the problem may be also that the headlamp is shining straight ahead, and does not follow the curve? Just my solution for my own safety. Jacostarica.

Street: 36R/33F Dirt: 25R/25F K270s wear evenly for me as a set. I generally get 5,500 miles from a set in mixed riding. Mark
