switch won't take key
Me and my brother take the low tech honers. The original shade tree
mechanics. I took a bolt off my brother's Mustang (he sold me - don't
buy from relatives) that had about 10 washers on it as it was waaaay
toooo long. I also was helping him change a transmission once and had
to turn my head to keep from laughing (he's a sensitive feller) when
he pulled out his wife's sewing kit tape measure to measure a
transmission shaft. He is the king of Shade Trees.

switch won't take key
I'm pretty sure I have a matching set of ignition switch/gas cap with key somewhere in the
garage.

if anyone's interested, make me a reasonable offer and I'll do the required digging to
confirm it

Thanks, guys, for all the suggestions. They were all helpful and
logical. They didn't work. Feeling around with a long brad, I think a
pin is stuck and won't move. I blew, flushed with WD-40, picked,
tapped, cussed, heated, cussed some more(heat source), wiggled, all
with no luck. I'm going to wait for the WD-40 to soak in and try again.
I'll keep you posted.

~~~~Pick up a can of PB Blaster and spray that into the lock. It is the best penetrant you can buy. WD 40 is a 'water dispersant' and not a penetrant. Trust me on this, PB Blaster is what you want to use Jake Reddick Fla.> > I'll keep you posted. > > Bill >
On another forum it was stated that a Krylon Hammertone color was a
close match. I shopped around and the best match I could find was
their "charcoal grey". I used it on an old clutch cover and while it
was close, it wasn't exactly right. It dried a little lighter than
OEM. Krylon inventory in the stores (Sears) I shopped at was spotty,
so maybe they make a color that is a better match and I just didn't
come across it. Thats the only tip I can offer.
