air filter oil vs wd 40
Being a Cheap bastard I chainsaw bar oil, mostly cause I always have a
jug if it handy.
Era laundry soap to wash, dry, put in large ziplock bag, add about 1
oz of oil and squeeze alot, then put back on frame and hang it seal
side down for awhile before putting back in bike.
Liking the sound of the NoToil system, maybe next filter will convert.

If excess oil is in the foam filter it will seep down through the rubber drain valve in the air box and appear below, which will make one panic. How do I know ?> Era laundry soap to wash, dry, put in large ziplock bag, add about 1 > oz of oil and squeeze alot, then put back on frame and hang it seal > side down for awhile before putting back in bike.

I tried a clock like that but it kept running slow. Maybe it was because the rain soaked the paper........

It would be interesting to know more about the mileage you have put on the bike, the operating conditions (dust, etc.) any intake tract swabs you have done and any oil analysis. Bar oil is certainly tacky and remains in place at fairly high temperatures. I wonder how well the bar oil works in comparison to dedicated oils. I can't see much physical difference between the air filter oils and bar oils which I have inspected although my taste in wine has been criticized as being poor........ The NoToil wins my user award hands down because it seems to work well according to intake tract swabs and is so much easier to clean. More food for thought. I'll have to ask some of the small engine techs if they know of long term success with bar oil.
