gps mount

I mounted my Garmin 176 GPS using a Touratech mount. I chose the more expensive one as it's got rubber shock absorbers and isolates the GPS well. I never have any issues with vibration. The power plug is hard wired into the mount and has never given me any connection problems at all. Cycoactive calls it their Super MVG @ $144.00 USD http://www.gpscentral.ca/graphics/touratech/176mvg.jpg http://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/touratech.htm http://www.cycoactive.com/gps/gps_mounts.html - 065-0041 While these are pricey I have never had a problem with them and IMHO their far surpass the RAM mounts in quality, security and cost. Check out the marine accessory @ your local boating shop for good corrosion resistant plugs. Another thing to consider is converting all 12V adapters over to Anderson Power Pole adapters. That way you have a universal adapter for everything. Just cut off the cig lighter and add an adapter to each end. You can make a pig tail for multi connections if you like. Amateur Radio Emergency Service operators use these connectors to allow quick, universal connections between setups. http://www.andersonpower.com/products/pp/pp.html Cheers, Dave Watkins
