anyone know any "crafty" ways to get the gas out of the tank?

Actually, kevlar is about the worse fabric for standing up to road rash, at least that's been the result of every test I've read. It might stop a bullet but it wont stop the road. Among synthetics good old ballistic nylon is the best for taking a slide down the road. It has twice the abrasion resistance of Kevlar Stretch (kevlar lycra mix) and followed in order by its abrasion resistance is Cordura, carbon coated kevlar, cow hide, 500 Denier Cordura, machine washable leather, goat hide and dead last in the list is just plain old kevlar.
