From personal experience Stu is right. In California, if you have a police report you can file small claims and then go back to the DMV and fill out the paperwork stating you intend to seek damages in the accident. The DMV then carries through by demanding the other driver provide proof of financial responsibility. If they don't the DMV suspends both license and car registration until the matter is settled. Back in 74, the love of my life, a 1960 Chevy C10, shortbed stepside /w factory torsion bar suspension and a Corvette Hi Performance 265, was totaled by a dumb blond female tat wasn't carrying insurance. I got a police report, filed my paperwork and she skipped to Nevada. Every year I dutifully went down and renewed my paperwork at both the county courthouse and the DMV. In 77 the (b-word) showed at my door asking me to sign the DMV paperwork that would allow her to get a license. I got two grand for that signature. If the crash wasn't too long ago, you can file what's called a counter report or late collision report. it's usually a CHP form # 555-03(in CA collisions are all reported on CHP forms, even for cities). If you have the other party's info, they may even investigate it or atleast call the other driver and try to get them to pay up. You can also try a private collision investigator, civil attorney, PI, or even your own insurance company may chase down the resposible party for you. ultimately all crashes area civil issues so civil court action regins supreme. The longer ago the crash was the higher the S.O.L. factor. You can also write the truck off, drink more beer, and save lots of money and agrivation too. I saw a movie once where somebody got a extra long spark plug wire
and hung a spark plug into the gas tank. No but seriously, without a
police report you can't really take the guy to court. Your word
against his. Uninsured motorists coverage and a police accident
report is what will keep you out of this situation in the future.
Did the police refuse to come to the accident scene and if so, what
was the reason? Every case is different depending on the
circumstances.
If he was grossly negligent and you can prove it, you might have a
case.

You can say anything you want, be as obnoxious as all get-out, but include a smiley-face and it converts to civil. :-]

Yeah, but if she's not paying you now, a little pressure from the authorities may be the only way to get her moving in the right direction.> should be getting sent to ME. See my dilemma?

corbin seat materials
I was thinking about ordering a Flat Corbin for the new year but I am a
little bit confused about what material would be my best choice.
In the KLR choices the flat is shown with a Carbon Fiber pattern and the
Corbin FAQ states this is leather that has black nylon laminated to the top.
In the Smooth Leather options the website states that coated leathers don't
breath like they should.
Is there any noticable difference in comfort and lifespan between the two?
