kenda 270's- use em? like em?

Post by Guest » Sat Jan 25, 2003 11:22 am

ok , finally a subject I know a little something about. After running the Kenda 270's all last summer about 5000 miles, I was never really happy with them .in GA. clay the front would pack up really quick, and the damm things were really LOUD at speed on pavement. I wasn't real happy with them in the corners either. That being said , I think they are fine for what they cost. I have had the TKC 80 's on for about 1500 miles. First impressions were "man these f@#kin things are HUGE. (stock size) I did have to trim the lower part of the chain guard. These things ROCK on and off road. They don't pack up with mud near as bad as the 270's they really hook up good in the dirt and they really are much better on gravel roads. On pavement you will swear your on street tires . The only fault I can find with them so far is at very low speeds you will feel the large blocks on the rear. IMHO you get what you pay for. I got mine at www.swmototires.com The last time I checked there are not listed on the site. you will have to call. As always very good service. Mike PS. any body else in Georgia? Great, but never heard of a TKC 80. Could you point a link with some info about them? The FAQ doesn't mention. TIA, SBL

Just look at a new BMW GS-Adventure, they're the stock tires on those. Seems like the GS-Adventures everywhere all of a sudden. Nice looking tires, I'd like to try them on the KLR myself.

Running a set now, Continental Knobbies right, have gotten about 4k out of mine. Like them on the dirt, kind of hinky on the street. The Cable cuts in the street are scary if they are not perpendicular to the flow of the traffic. -----Original Message----- From: S. B. Thanks for the reply, Zach. I was afraid the sidewalls on the wider 270 front tire might be a problem source. I'll have to look at the other tires you mentioned. Thanks again- Jason
