fram oil filter # for klr650?

The oil ring of concern is the ~2in diameter jobber that goes into a slot on the oilfilter cover. The oil ring seals engine oil pressure in, as the oil downstream of the filter goes past the pressure reg/bypass and then to the engine feed galleys. If well cared for, it can be reused many times without leaking. Or at least has done so for me about 10 times. I will replace it soon tho. YMMV Mark. Fram filters come with o-rings. But I've been using the same o-rings for 15,000mi, they just haven't started leaking yet. The o-ring fits the filter case cover, not the filter. Devon "Russell Dyck " wrote:

Fred has the Emgo for 3.95, and the Fram for 6.95. When you order your spring supplies from him, order a couple and 'voila, you're set.. Just my $3.95 worth for the day.... Ron in St. Cloud. (currently -5 on the ol' temp guage)

I've only replaced the o-ring once in 5 years across three bikes and a total of 56,000 miles, not including the previous owners. When former list Sarah Barwig was having leak problems on her bike's filter cover, I sent her a few of my unused o-rings that came with my Frams. I get Frams at my local shop for $5.00 tax included.
