One of the first things I did after bringing it home was to rotate the bars forward, which helped quite a bit. This bike uses a traditional 7/8" clamp-mount handlebar, so the sky's the limit when it comes to reconfiguration. I'm 5'11" with a ~33" inseam, and I agree that it's a bit smallish. Then again, so is every other UJM on the market which is why I commented earlier that there's definitely a market for bikes like the V-Strom. RM>If I may be allowed to chime in... Dude....it is most likely something loose vibrating outside the
engine.I just got Tammy R to help me adjust my valves.Afterward on
the way home a mysterious engine noise appeared. It came and
went.Turned out to be trhe radiator screen i didn't put back the
right way.Look around the bike...twist,pull and tug at everything
you can get your hands on.Did you do any wrenching in the days just
before the noise first appreaded? good luck

Hey,
Another perk (besides being a great all around streeter) to the ZR-7 (and
Bandit o course) is that it's not on the AMA's "bike theft hit list".
Latest issue of AMA mag has the YZFR6 & R1, CBR600 & 900, GSXR600/750/1000,
GSX1300, ZX600 & 900, and FLSTF as being the most popular bikes for thieves.
These include model years 1999 to 2001.
Guessing this is a big part of why you need to take a second mortgage, to
fully insure the race replica types.

That list is worse than useless... It's deceptive. The AMA is ranking the bikes based on total thefts, not the number of thefts as a percentage of bikes registered. If there are 10,000 F4's and 200 get stolen, that's a 2% theft rate. If there are 500 RC51's and 50 get stolen, that's a 10% theft rate. In these two cases, the F4 will get a higher ranking even though its theft rate is 1/5 that of the RC51. I do agree that the insurance is cheap. It's only slightly higher than what I pay on the KLR, and both bikes have full coverage plus 15/30UMBI for around $450/yr.>Another perk (besides being a great all around streeter) to the ZR-7 (and >Bandit o course) is that it's not on the AMA's "bike theft hit list".

Perspective...useless/deceptive, or all good info.
The usefulness of the list to me, is that it's a pretty accurate gauge as to
what you can expect to pay, to insure one of these bikes.
As these stats, regardless of flaws in method, are a Big part, of what the
insurance folks look at, when deciding how much you're going to dish out for
peace of mind.
